EQUIPA
Lydia Bean is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research, policy, and advocacy. Currently serving as President of EQUIPA since June 2023, Lydia also holds the position of Assistant Professor of Research at The University of Texas at Arlington. As a co-founder of Whistleblower Aid, Lydia has been integral to the organization since January 2016. Previously, Lydia directed policy and advocacy efforts at Caring Across Generations and worked as a Fellow at New America. A former Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer at Faith in Texas, Lydia has held leadership roles in various organizations, including Faith in Action and Friends of Justice. Lydia earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Music from Austin College, complementing studies at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.
