David Ward

David Ward currently serves as the Head of Government Relations at Equitable, a position held since November 2025. Prior to this role, David held various senior positions at Brighthouse Financial from January 2017 to November 2025, including Head of Government Relations, Chief Sustainability Officer, and Vice President of Government Relations. David's extensive experience in government relations includes serving as Assistant Vice President and Director of Government Relations at MetLife from August 2014 to January 2017 and as Government Affairs Manager at Lowe's Companies, Inc. from March 2013 to August 2014. Additionally, David worked in the United States Senate as Communications Director and in the U.S. House of Representatives as Press Secretary, Deputy Press Secretary, Legislative Correspondent, and Staff Assistant from May 2008 to March 2013 and from August 2005 to May 2008, respectively. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and History from Wake Forest University, completed between 2001 and 2005.
