Nelson Lum is an accomplished insurance professional with extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, as well as in Big 4 consulting. Currently serving as the Head of Reinsurance at Equitable since January 2024, Nelson leads life inforce management actions and conducts analysis of reinsurance transactions for both onshore and offshore domiciles. Previously, Nelson held the position of Director at KPMG LLP from March 2008 to January 2024, providing expertise in pricing, product development, assumption setting, and actuarial modeling. Nelson's earlier roles include Actuarial Consultant at SCOR Global Life, where pricing and treaty analysis were key responsibilities, as well as actuarial positions at Canada Life and Sun Life Financial focusing on group life and health, individual financial management, and cash flow testing. Education was completed at the University of Waterloo.
