Tom Cunningham

Tom Cunningham is an experienced finance professional with a strong background in credit investments and portfolio management. Currently serving as the Head of Credit Investments for Equitable since May 2025, Cunningham previously held the position of Senior Portfolio Manager at Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Company from September 2023 to April 2025. A notable tenure as Managing Director at Blackstone Credit from 2017 to 2023 involved investing over $15 billion in various asset classes for insurance clients. Prior experience includes significant roles at Fidelity & Guaranty Life, Tradition Capital Management, Assurant, Inc., and PGIM Investments, totaling over three decades in the finance sector. Educational qualifications include a BA in History from Cornell University, an MBA in Finance from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business, and ABD status in a Doctorate in Finance and International Economics from Pace University.
