Valerie Simpson

Valerie Simpson, CPA, currently serves as the Lead Director of Financial Controls at Equitable since May 2018, overseeing financial controls programs for GAAP and statutory reporting. Prior to this role, Valerie was the Principal at KVS Consulting LLC in early 2018, providing risk, compliance, and financial accounting consulting services. From May 2013 to July 2017, Valerie held the position of Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for Prudential Financial, managing compliance for corporate functions and enterprise-wide programs. Additionally, as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Prudential Investments from March 2006 to June 2013, Valerie was responsible for compliance programs for registered investment advisers and mutual funds. Valerie’s earlier experience at Prudential Financial also included a Vice President role focused on financial reporting for various variable life and annuity products from June 1999 to March 2006. Valerie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
