Michael Bifano, Ph.D., P.E., is a consultant and team leader specializing in the reliability and fitness-for-service of fixed and rotating equipment. With expertise in piping and structural vibration testing, Michael performs Fitness-For-Service evaluations using API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 Level 3 Assessments, focusing on fracture mechanics and fatigue. Michael has a solid academic background, holding a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, where they investigated guided waves in nanostructures, and a Bachelor's in Physics from Lebanon Valley College. Currently, Michael leads the Rotating Equipment, Vibration, and Dynamics Team at The Equity Engineering Group and has previously served as a physics and chemistry teacher while also creating an award-winning environmental science program for at-risk youth.
