André Boonstra is a Professor of Experimental Hepatology at Erasmus MC, specializing in the immunology of viral hepatitis and liver cancer. From 2006 to 2000, they served as a Principal Investigator at Erasmus MC, focusing on HBV and HCV infections. Before this, they worked as an Investigator Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institute for Medical Research, studying the immunology of M. tuberculosis from 2001 to 2006. André's early research included a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the DNAX Research Institute, where they explored the immunology of dendritic cell-T cell interactions from 2000 to 2001. They earned a degree in Medical Biology from the University of Groningen between 1993 and 1996.
