Bart Koes

Bart Koes is a Professor of General Practice and Clinical Epidemiologist at the Department of General Practice, Erasmus University Medical Center, Rotterdam, a position held since 1999. They lead projects involving large-scale randomized clinical trials, observational studies, and systematic reviews, focusing mainly on musculoskeletal disorders in primary care and pediatrics. With over 600 publications in the realm of musculoskeletal disorders, Bart Koes is ranked as one of the top researchers globally in the field of low back pain. Since 2018, they have also served as a part-time professor of Musculoskeletal Disorders in Primary Care at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense. Prior to these roles, Koes was an Associate Professor at VU University Medical Center from 1996 to 1999 and a Research Fellow at Maastricht University from 1987 to 1991.
