Fred Balvert

Fred Balvert is an experienced professional in strategic communications and science communication, currently serving as an Advisory Board Member for the FRONTIERS ERC-project since June 2023 and as a Strategic Communications Advisor at Erasmus MC since June 2002. Balvert has held various roles at Erasmus MC, including Head of Congress Agency, Director of the Science Gallery, and Science Communicator/Editor-In-Chief. In addition, Balvert is a member of the Selection and Organizing Committee for the International School of Science Journalism and has been active in the Public Communication of Science & Technology Network since 2006. As a Senior Lecturer in Science Communication Management at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences from September 2017 to December 2023, Balvert contributed to the field of science communication. Previous roles include PR officer positions and journalism, complemented by formal education resulting in an MSc in Public Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a BA in Leisure Management from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
