Patrick Bindels is a professor in General Practice and the Head of the Department of General Practice at Erasmus MC, a position held since 2008. They served as a member of the Dutch Health Council from 2008 to 2020 and were a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the National Health Care Institute starting in 2019. With a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Amsterdam, Patrick's past roles also include positions as a general practitioner with Médecins Sans Frontières and professor at Universiteit van Amsterdam. They have contributed significantly to various health organizations, including serving as chairman of the council for the Dutch College of General Practitioners.
