Patrick Forbes

Patrick Forbes is an experienced academic and engineer specializing in biomechanics and neuromuscular control. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Erasmus MC since December 2016, Patrick's research interests focus on the neuromuscular control of the head-neck system, vestibular and proprioceptive feedback, and the stabilization of individuals with neck movement disorders. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of British Columbia and a PhD Researcher at Delft University of Technology. Patrick's early career involved significant engineering positions at TNO Science and Industry, University of Waterloo, and various manufacturing firms, contributing to projects on safety modeling, trauma assessment in automotive engineering, and development of mechanical systems. Patrick holds a Ph.D. in Biomechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, a Master's in Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field from the University of Waterloo.
