Robert Porte

Professor of Surgery, Chief of HPB and Transplant Surgery

Robert Porte is a Professor of Surgery at Erasmus MC, specializing in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation. They possess clinical expertise in both malignant and benign diseases of the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts. Robert has held several prestigious positions, including Chief of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation at the University Medical Center Groningen from 2007 to 2022, and currently serves as a Board Member and Treasurer of the Werkgroep Leverchirurgie and the Dutch Society for Hepatology. Their scientific interests include bile duct injury and repair, as well as hemostasis in liver diseases and surgery. Robert’s education includes MD and PhD degrees from Erasmus University Rotterdam and extensive surgical training across multiple institutions.
