Ruben Dammers

Ruben Dammers is a neurosurgeon at Erasmus MC since November 2003, specializing in CSF diversion surgery, skull base surgery, and cerebrovascular surgery. At Sophia Children's Hospital, primary interests include CSF diversion surgery, pediatric neuro-oncology, and craniofacial surgery as part of the Dutch Craniofacial Centre. Dammers is also a member of the Neurovascular Network Northsea, collaborating with multiple institutions in Rotterdam, Leiden, and The Hague. Experience includes serving as an acting neurosurgeon since October 2010 at Admiraal De Ruyter Ziekenhuis, focusing on spine and peripheral nerve surgery. A research fellowship in microneurosurgical cerebrovascular techniques was completed at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2007. Dammers earned an MD from Maastricht University and completed a PhD focusing on arterial remodeling in arteriovenous fistulas for hemodialysis.
