Jian

Jian Ma is a professional with extensive experience in power system operations and engineering. Currently serving in Transmission Operation Planning at ERCOT since January 2020, Jian Ma previously held the position of Senior Technical Advisory Consultant at Burns & McDonnell from June 2012 to January 2020, where Jian Ma was the Principal Investigator for a project focused on software tools for monitoring power system stabilities using real-time synchrophasor measurement. Prior experience includes a role as Research Engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory from April 2007 to May 2012, concentrating on renewable integration analysis, synchrophasor applications, power system stability and reliability assessment, power system transients and dynamics, as well as Smart Grid initiatives. Education includes a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Queensland, Australia, earned between 2005 and 2007.
