Jim Carter has over 30 years of experience in the metering industry, currently serving as a Field Meter Analyst in the ERCOT Meter Engineering Group since March 2008. In this role, Jim is responsible for the review and approval of ERCOT polled settlement metering at generation and transmission sites, ensuring compliance with ERCOT protocols and operating guides. Prior to joining ERCOT, Jim worked at Oklahoma Gas and Electric for 22 years as a Meter Tech, where responsibilities included installation, testing, and maintenance of various types of metering, as well as addressing meter tampering and fraud. Jim holds a degree in Electrical Maintenance from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology.
