Umar Burney

Umar Burney is a Power System Engineer at ERCOT since August 2022, having previously served as a Transmission Planning Engineer at the same company from May to August 2021. From May 2021 to May 2022, Umar held the position of President of the IEEE Power & Energy Society at the UT Austin Chapter. Academic experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin in the latter half of 2020. Umar also worked as a Personal Shopper at H-E-B from March to July 2020. In terms of education, Umar Burney earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin from 2018 to 2022, following an Associate of Science in Mathematics from San Jacinto College from 2014 to 2018.
