Sy Pretorius

Sy Pretorius is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ERGOMED Group, based in Boston. They bring roughly 30 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with deep drug development and commercialization expertise. Prior to ERGOMED, they served as Chief Operating Officer at EVERSANA (2022–2024) and as President, Clinical Development and Chief Medical Officer at PAREXEL, where they oversaw a $3.6 billion global P&L with more than 16,000 employees. They currently serve on the boards of Ergomed and Tekton Research, and hold advisory board roles with Automata; they previously served on boards including Vault Health and FARMOVS-PAREXEL. Their education includes MBChB (University of the Free State, 1989–1994), MMedSc in Clinical Pharmacology (University of the Free State, 1997–1999), MBA (North-West University, 1998–2000), MS in Management of Drug Development (USC, 2013–2016), and FFPM (Hon) from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, Royal College of Physicians (2013–2016).
