Eric Bauer

Eric Bauer C.P.C. graduated from Indiana University in 1975 from the School of Psychology and was a practicing psychotherapist in his first career. He then spent more than twenty years in design, manufacturing and marketing, both domestically and overseas, in the Home Furnishings and Home Fashion Industry. He was recognized by the trade publication, Furniture Today in 1987 and again in 1990, as one of the 87 and 90 leaders of the industry most likely to move that industry forward in the nineties.

Mr. Bauer was one of the original founders of the Accessories Resource Team, ART, the trade association of the Home Accents and Decorative Accessories Industry. He served as the association's treasurer, president, chairman and chaired the association's first Education Committee. Mr. Bauer is credited with the foresight during his presidency to create new by-laws which opened the association to include members from all avenues of the industry. He conducted training seminars and workshops for retailers, trade associations, consumers, and market design centers nationwide. In 1989 he sat among an exclusive panel of 3 for the National Press Breakfast in High Point, NC sharing the stage with the late design icon, Mark Hampton, and Michael Dugan, then president of Henredon.

His former company, Bauer Lamps, was the recipient of the coveted ARTS Award in 1992 for design, manufacturing and marketing of decorative lamps. Mr. Bauer also served on the executive committee of The Home Furnishings Council, HFC, representing all decorative accessory companies and was a featured guest on the HAVEN television program, sharing his expertise on subjects ranging from Halogen Lighting to trends in design, color, and finishes. He served on the IHFC Accessory Advisory Board for more than a decade and also served on the International Home Furnishings Center's Market Advisory Board, as a co-representative of the decorative accessory arm of the home furnishings industry.

In 1997 Mr. Bauer received his C.P.C. designation (Certified Professional Consultant) from the International Guild of Professional Consultants, IGPC, a non profit organization for consultants from all fields of industry. His lectures for private corporations are in the areas of marketing, sales, and consulting.
