Willie Nel

Willie Nel is an experienced telecommunications professional currently serving at Ericsson as Chief Technology Officer, Principal Solutions Architect, and Head of Operations (MSIP Operational Assurance) since February 2015. In this capacity, Willie manages operational fulfillment for a major telecommunications network provider, overseeing technical operations, network performance, and customer relationship management. Notably, Willie leads the ECEP (Ericsson Customer Experience Program) across Africa and has previously acted as MSCOO, handling the managed service delivery for 4000 sites. Prior experience includes various leadership roles at MTN from March 1999 to February 2015, including Specialist in Radio Planning and Optimization, and Senior Engineer in Switching High Level Support. Willie began a career at Telkom in 1999 as an Engineer. Willie holds a B.Eng in Electronic Engineering and a B.Eng (Electron) in Antenna Design from the University of Pretoria, completed in 1997.
