Xuegui Song

Xuegui Song has extensive experience in the field of engineering, specializing in wireless communications and optical systems. At the University of British Columbia, Xuegui served as a Teaching Assistant and Sessional Lecturer, supervising students and developing lab materials for digital communications and programming courses. Research experience includes investigating subcarrier optical wireless communications and channel estimation techniques for OFDM systems, with contributions to performance evaluation tools and algorithms. As a System Engineer at BLiNQ Networks, Xuegui focused on PHY feature design for wireless backhaul systems and conducted R&D for millimeter wave communications. Subsequently, Xuegui held senior optical engineering roles at Lumentum and Infinera, designing and developing communication system prototypes and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Currently, Xuegui is a 5G Baseband System Developer at Ericsson. Educational credentials include a Master of Applied Science and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, along with a degree in Electronic Information Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnic University.
