Colin Smith

Colin Smith is an experienced professional in chemical regulatory affairs and toxicology, with extensive expertise in health, safety, and welfare at work. From 1993 to 2001, Colin worked as a scientist and toxicologist at DERA, later serving as a study director at Thor Specialities UK Ltd until 2006. Colin then joined the Health and Safety Authority as an inspector from 2007 to 2011, before moving to H2 Compliance, where Colin held positions including chemical regulatory affairs and senior manager of chemical hazard and risk until 2020. Currently, Colin serves as a technical consulting director at ERM, after previously holding the role of principal consultant from 2020 to 2023. Colin holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and a Higher Diploma in Health, Safety, and Welfare at Work from University College Dublin.
