John Pagnaer

John Pagnaer is an experienced professional in environmental management and quality assurance, currently serving as Team Lead M&A at ERM since June 2025. In this role, John manages a team of EHS specialists focused on due diligence activities related to mergers and acquisitions, as well as EHS compliance and ESG audits in Belgium and the Netherlands. Prior to ERM, John held various positions at Umicore from 2008 to 2012, culminating in roles such as Senior Environmental Manager and Manager ZnO Process, where John developed environmental policies and oversaw environmental affairs. Additional experience includes serving as Manager Manufacturing Support Services at Sanofi Genzyme and SHEQ Manager at General Electric. John holds a Master’s and PhD in Chemistry from Universiteit Gent and Universiteit Hasselt, respectively, along with a Master's in Environmental Management from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
