Jaco Prinsloo

Jaco Prinsloo has a diverse work experience that spans over many years. Jaco is currently working at groupelephant.com as a Principal (Managing Director) since November 2021 and was previously an Associate Partner from January 2021 to October 2021. Before joining groupelephant.com, Jaco worked at Advance.io as a Practice Lead starting in August 2021.

Jaco's longest tenure was at EPI-USE Labs, where they held various roles. Jaco served as the Vice President: Custom Development from March 2015 to the present, where they managed and expanded bespoke development for clients. Notable achievements include consistent year-on-year revenue growth and expanding the business unit's clientele and projects. Prior to that, Jaco worked as a Software Architect from March 2010 to the present, leading software architecture on multiple web and cloud-based projects. Notable projects include a bespoke payroll system for a Fortune 500 client and a Kafka-based real-time data analytics tool.

Before becoming a Software Architect, Jaco worked as a Software Engineer from October 2009 to February 2010, focusing on performance analysis and improvements for a Fortune 500 web application. Jaco successfully reduced response time and improved the system's performance as required by the client. Jaco also worked as a Java Developer from April 2007 to September 2009, leading a team that developed a customizable CRM tool using Java, EJBs, JSF, and jQuery.

Prior to their roles at EPI-USE Labs, Jaco worked at the same company as a Junior ABAP Developer from February 2006 to March 2007, creating an internal task management tool using ABAP in SAP R/3.

Jaco Prinsloo attended the University of Pretoria from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained their B. IT degree in Computer Science. In addition, they also obtained several certifications from Coursera in the years 2013, 2014, and 2015. These certifications include "Functional Programming Principles in Scala," "Programming Mobile Applications for Android Handheld Systems," and "Principles of Reactive Programming."
