Chad Medcroft has over 20 years of experience in the solar and energy storage industry. In 2000, they began their career as a Research Associate/Consultant for the Safe Energy Communication Council (SECC). From 2002 to 2005, they worked as the Sales and Operations Manager for Solar Works, then as the Western Regional Technical Sales Manager for Fronius USA from 2005 to 2006. From 2006 to 2013, they were the Senior Technical Trainer for SunPower Corporation and then the Vice President of Global Applications for Zep Solar from 2013 to 2017. During this time, they also served as the Interim Director of Training for SolarCity/Zep Solar. In 2017, they became the Vice President of Products for Lumeta Solar and was recognized as Top Solar Panel Product for 2017 (Solar Power World) and selected as a finalist for the 2018 Intersolar Award. From 2018 to 2022, they served as the Principal Engineer, Head of Solar Mounting Systems for VDE Americas and provided Independent Engineering (IE) and Owner Engineering (OE) support for investors and developers of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Utility Scale solar and energy storage system (ESS) projects. Chad is currently a Distinguished Product Engineer for Erthos, Inc.
Chad Medcroft attended State University of New York College at Cortland from 1989 to 1994, earning a Bachelors - Honors in Mathematics, Economics & Management Science (Magna Cum Laude). In 1992, they completed a Semester Abroad - Minor in French at Universit\u00e9 de Neuch\u00e2tel. From 1997 to 2018, they attended Solar Energy International (SEI), studying Photovoltaics. Chad also attended Swinburne University of Technology in 1999, studying Renewable Energy Technology. In 2015, they completed Professional Continuing Education at HeatSpring in Batteries / Energy Storage. In addition, Chad has obtained several certifications, including OSHA 10 Hour Construction from ClickSafety in 2012, National Electric Code for Photovoltaics from UL in 2009, and Certified Photovoltaic Installer - Emeritus from NABCEP: North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners in 2005.
