Sonja Hegedus

Sonja Hegedus is a Mechanical Design Engineer currently employed at ESAB since November 2023. Previously, Sonja worked as a Design Engineer at KidKraft, Inc. from February 2021 to November 2023 and held the same title at Anchor Fabrication Ltd. from December 2017 to February 2021. In these roles, Sonja focused on the design of manual and robotic fixtures, product modification for manufacturing efficiency, and collaboration across departments to define project scopes and timelines. Earlier experience as an Associate Engineer involved analyzing customer drawings and implementing cost-saving engineering solutions. A background in mechanical design was established during a tenure as a Research Assistant at Case Western Reserve University, where Sonja designed prototype housing for a toxic-gas detector using SolidWorks. Sonja earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 2016.
