Edgar Torres, PhD has a long and varied work experience. From 1998 to 2000, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical and as a Senior Scientist at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson. From 2000 to 2008, they were a Senior Manager and Principal Scientist at Johnson & Johnson. In 2006, they became an Associate Professor at Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, and in 2009 they were promoted to Professor of Manufacturing Engineering, Management & Quality Systems/Engineering. In 2010, they became the President & CEO of Escalate Sciences, and in 2022 they became a Collaborator at the University of Central Florida.
Edgar Torres, PhD, obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia from 2004 to 2009. Edgar also earned a Master of Engineering - MEng in Manufacturing Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico between 2000 and 2002. Edgar's undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science - BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, obtained between 1993 and 1998. Additionally, they hold a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from Johnson & Johnson and an Engineering License from the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico.
