Nathan Bubna is a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Trustwell, a position held since February 2023 following the merger of ESHA Research with FoodLogiQ. With over two decades of experience in software development, Nathan has played a key role at The Apache Software Foundation since 2005, serving as the Velocity Project Management Committee Chair and being an active member of various project management committees, including Velocity, Tiles, and Jakarta. Prior experience includes leadership and development roles at ESHA Research, focusing on web application and API development. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Willamette University and has pursued a graduate certificate in Divinity at Multnomah University.

ESHA Research has been providing nutrition analysis solutions to companies all over the world through their software and nutrient databases. ESHA’s master food and nutrient database is composed of over 58,000 food items, with data from over 1,800 reputable sources. The data sources include the latest USDA Standard Reference database, manufacturer’sdata, restaurant data, and data from literature sources. Each of their 163 nutritional components is individually sourced.
