Kimberly Thornton has had a diverse range of work experience in the field of technology. Kimberly began working at Maryland Medical Metpath in 1994 as a Computer Operator, where they performed various tasks such as backups, problem solving, and providing customer service.

In 1995, Thornton moved on to Credit Management Solutions, Inc, where they started as an Associate Customer Support Analyst and eventually worked their way up to become a Customer Support Manager. Kimberly'sresponsibilities included managing support analysts, scheduling staff, and training new employees.

Thornton then joined Impact Innovations Group, Inc in 2000 as a Production Support Manager, where they oversaw the support of all products and managed personnel activities.

From 2001 to 2011, Thornton worked at Dynamic Research Corporation, initially as a Senior Technical Lead and later as a Senior Systems Administrator. In these roles, they were responsible for maintenance, installations, and upgrades of Unix servers, as well as assisting users with issues and building workstations.

Since 2011, Thornton has been working at Engineering Solutions, Inc. (ESi) as a Senior System Administrator and more recently as a System Engineer. Kimberly'sresponsibilities include system administration and engineering tasks.

Kimberly Thornton holds a Master's degree in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics from the University of Maryland Global Campus, which they obtained from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Systems from York College of Pennsylvania between 1989 and 1993. In addition to their degrees, Kimberly has also obtained certifications in the field of cybersecurity. In 2015, they obtained the Security + CE certification from CompTIA, and in 2019, they acquired the CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certification.
