David Rau

Project Manager at ESI Construction

David Rau has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Sales and Service Specialist at Les Schwab Tire Centers from 2011 to 2016. During this time, they developed strong relationships with customers. In 2016, they were a Construction Management Intern at Knife River Corporation, where they successfully managed various project management duties for four months. In 2017, they worked as a Capital Planning and Space Management Technician at Boise State University for two months. David then moved on to a Construction Management - Intern role at Knife River Corporation in 2017, where they continued to take on more project engineer responsibilities and gained experience in tracking truck operations and payroll. From October 2017 to May 2018, they worked as a Civil Engineering Intern at Stantec, where they reviewed submittals and made revisions to drawings using CAD Civil 3D 2017 and Microstation. Since August 2018, David has been with Engineered Structures, Inc. (ESI), initially starting as a Project Engineer I, where they resolved construction problems, managed various administrative tasks at the jobsite and in the office, and assisted with submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, take-offs, and safety. David then advanced to the role of Project Engineer II, where they continued to excel in their responsibilities. Most recently, they have become a Project Manager, starting in January 2022.

David Rau earned their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Civil Engineering from Boise State University from 2013 to 2018. Before attending college, they obtained their High School Diploma from Nampa Christian High School in 2012. In terms of certifications, they obtained a Construction Manager-in-Training certificate from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) in June 2020. Additionally, they obtained an OSHA - 30 certification from the OSHA Safety Training Institute in December 2018. In June 2018, they received the Erosion and Sediment Control Lead certification from Eco-3, as well as the OSHA - 10 certification from the OSHA Safety Training Institute in May 2018. Furthermore, they became a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers in September 2016.
