Ian Lowrie, PhD, has extensive experience in user experience research and anthropology. Notable roles include serving as Editor for Platypus: the CASTAC Blog, where management of a team of associate editors was key to content strategy. As a Senior UX/DX Researcher at Intel Corporation, Ian led developer experience initiatives for AI products across health, education, and consumer industries. Previous positions include Market Research Analyst at Cascade Insights, User Experience Researcher at Ad Hoc LLC, and various instructional roles at Rice University, Lewis and Clark College, and Portland State University. Ian holds a PhD in Anthropology from Rice University and a Bachelor's Degree from Reed College.
