Helmut Berger

Helmut Berger is a seasoned expert in budget analysis and public financial control, with extensive experience in public finances, administrative reform, internal control systems, and performance orientation. They served as the Head of the Austrian Parliamentary Budget Office until 2023 and held the position of Department Head at the Austrian Court of Audit from 1988 to 2012. Currently, Helmut participates on the Board of Auditors for the European Stability Mechanism and provides consultancy in budget matters and public control activities. Helmut's academic background includes a Doctorate in Law and a Master's degree in Social and Economic Sciences from the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
