Florent Eherler is an accomplished IT professional with a strong background in cloud engineering and project management. Currently serving as the Lead Cloud Engineer at eSMART Technologies SA since October 2012, Florent also heads the Project Management Office and web development teams. Previous roles include Lead Cloud Engineer at digitalSTROM AG and web developer at PESCHAUD & COMPAGNIE INTERNATIONAL, where responsibilities involved developing a web platform for stock management. Earlier experience includes assisting students in CAD exercises at EPFL and working as a collaborator in a non-food department at Manor. Florent holds a B.S. in Computer Science & Engineering from HEIG-VD and has pursued studies at the Université de Neuchâtel and EPFL.

eSMART develops intelligent systems for building automation. It can manage building functions like heating, lighting, electricity, videophone, or show the current use of electricity and water in real-time, informing occupants about energy consumption through a touchscreen in the living room or a smartphone app. This spin-off of the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne), founded in 2011, developed a technology that requires no additional cables and that can be integrated effortlessly and cost-effectively into existing buildings. The micro-modules mounted directly behind the switches communicate via the existing wiring. Thanks to the easy installation, eSMART has amongst its customers some of the major construction companies in Switzerland.
