Kate Mace

Group Lead at ESnet

Kate Mace is the Group Lead at ESnet. Kate has previously worked as the Strategic Programs Manager, ESnet Science Engagement at Berkeley Lab from December 2015 to November 2018. As the Strategic Programs Manager, they were responsible for advancing ESnet's mission through positive outcomes of strategic programs that enable researchers to leverage the network and related tools in order to achieve greater science outputs. Kate Mace has also worked as the Chief Operating Officer at CULR, LLC from January 2012 to December 2015. In this role, they were responsible for the operations and overall direction of the organization, specifically focused on the technical aspects and assets of the organization. Kate Mace has also been involved with the Supercomputing Conference Series as the Conference Committee Chair from January 2008 to December 2014. In September 2014, they took on the role of Director of External Partnership Management at Clemson University which they held until December 2015. Lastly, Kate Mace was the Advanced Networking and Research Methods Lead at Clemson University from January 2013 to December 2014.

Kate Mace has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University and a degree in Communications from Brigham Young University.

Some direct reports include John Hess - Network Engineer, Asma Samano - Network Engineer, and Eric Smith - Network Engineer. Kate Mace reports to Jon-Paul Herron, Director, Network Engineering. They are on a team with Jessica Schmit - Group Lead, Eric Pouyoul - Group Lead, Acting, and Michael Blodgett - Network Engineer.
