Varun Chitre

Varun Chitre has a diverse work experience in various software engineering roles. Varun started their career at YU Televentures Pvt. Ltd. as a Community Developer in 2015. In 2016, they joined Mobiport, Inc. as a Software Engineer and worked there until 2017. During this time, they completed projects as an Android OS Engineer at Upwork, maintaining a Top Rated status and 100% success rate.

In 2017, Varun joined Esper as a Senior Software Engineer. Varun led the effort to build an Enterprise-grade Android OS optimized for purpose-built devices. As an Engineering Manager at Esper from 2021 to 2022, they led cross-geographical teams to build Esper's flagship product 'Esper Foundation for Android'.

Additionally, Varun served as an Organization Administrator and mentor at AOSSIE, where they mentored open-source contributors and managed student proposals and approvals for Google Summer of Code and Google Code-In programs.
