John Abel

John Abel currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Proofpoint since October 2024, while also being an Advisory Board Member at Espressive since July 2019. Previously, John held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Extreme Networks from April 2021 to October 2024, and at Veritas Technologies LLC from October 2018 to April 2021, where John led a global IT team in a turnaround effort for a $2 billion enterprise software organization. John has extensive experience in the technology sector, including senior roles at Ellie Mae, Hitachi Data Systems, Symantec, JDS Uniphase, and KPMG Consulting. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Staffordshire and has ongoing education at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
