Dawn Wright

Dawn Wright, PhD, serves as the Chief Scientist at the Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri), where they bolster the scientific principles behind Esri's software and services while representing the organization within the scientific community. They currently hold a faculty appointment as Professor of Geography and Oceanography at Oregon State University and have previously contributed to institutions like NOAA and the U.S. Department of State as the US Science Envoy of Ocean Sustainability. With a PhD in Physical Geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Dawn's research interests span seafloor mapping, ocean conservation, and environmental informatics.
