Lance Owen, PhD, is a geospatial product and data strategy leader with a lifelong fascination for maps and knowledge organization. They earned a PhD in Geography from UC Berkeley and have held various academic and strategic roles, including instructing global studies and urban studies at North Cross School and The Lovett School. Their experience also includes serving as a Senior GIS Analyst at the CDC, where they contributed to the COVID-19 International Task Force, and currently leading the United Nations and Global Organizations Team at Esri. Lance is also an Executive MBA candidate at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, focusing on data science and digital transformation.
