Rohit S. is the Director of the Esri R&D Center India, leading advancements in geospatial AI capabilities for ArcGIS since February 2019. With a profound interest in Geospatial AI, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, Rohit has made significant contributions through various roles, including serving as an Industry Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society and founding Geonuma Software Pvt Ltd, where consulting services in Deep Learning and API design were provided for geospatial applications. Prior positions include Lead Software Developer at Esri, where Rohit was instrumental in developing the ArcGIS API for Python and various other software, as well as experience at IBM and a computer vision startup. Rohit is pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence at the Georgia Institute of Technology, after obtaining a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons.) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
