Steven Jackson

Steven Jackson, PE, PhD is a seasoned professional in geoinformatics and engineering with a robust academic and industry background. Currently serving as the Department Manager and Principal Technical Consultant at Esri since April 2018, Jackson has also contributed extensively as an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University, teaching the Capstone Course in Geoinformatics across multiple semesters and developing its online version. Previously, Jackson held various significant roles at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency from 2006 to 2018, including Research Scientist and Deputy Office Director, where responsibilities included managing teams and providing technical advice. Jackson earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Earth Systems and Geoinformation Sciences and a Master of Science in Geographic and Cartographic Science from George Mason University, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston.
