Skylar Mitchell

Skylar Mitchell is an accomplished communication professional with extensive experience in writing and coordination across various media platforms. Currently serving as a Freelance Communication Coordinator and Copywriter at Olu & Company, Skylar is also a Contributing Writer for both Teen Vogue and Essence Communications Inc. Additionally, Skylar founded SMITCH + Co., an online magazine focusing on Black girlhood in television, film, and art. Previous roles include Coordinator of Program & Content Strategy at CNN, where responsibilities included managing live programming schedules and facilitating special events. Skylar has contributed as an Associate Editor for Corrections Today Magazine, emphasizing prison reform, and participated in impactful roles such as a Social Justice Fellow at Spelman College and a VoteEverywhere Ambassador. Skylar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Women's Studies with a concentration in International Studies from Spelman College and a Master of Arts from Columbia University.
