Anil Thomas

Anil Thomas is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and data science. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Essential AI since February 2025, Anil previously held the position of Senior Director of Applied Data Science at Akridata, where responsibilities included designing and developing cloud solutions for AI. Anil co-founded Luminide, serving as CTO, and played a significant role in building a platform to automate AI development before its acquisition by Akridata. A notable tenure at Intel Corporation as Director and Principal Engineer focused on managing a team of PhD data scientists and developing AI-related solutions, including applications in audio processing and computer vision. Earlier experiences include roles at Nervana, Cisco Systems, and various internships, complemented by an MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a BTech in Computer Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
