David Beard

David Beard is an experienced communications professional with a robust background in sustainability reporting and internal communication. Currently serving as the Sustainability Reporting and Communications Manager at Essential Energy since August 2018, David leads the company's sustainability initiatives and annual reporting, aligning them with evolving stakeholder expectations. Prior to this, David held various leadership roles at Essential Energy, including Corporate Communications Manager, and in the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science as Co-Manager Content and Channels. David's extensive experience at Geoscience Australia from 2007 to 2017 encompassed multiple directorships focused on business improvement, communication strategy, and visual communications, overseeing large teams and substantial budgets. David holds a Master of Strategic Communication from the University of Canberra and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from The Australian National University, specializing in resource and environmental management.
