Dene Ward

Dene Ward is an experienced professional in network risk and performance management, currently serving as the Network Risk and Performance Manager at Essential Energy since June 2023. Previously, Dene held several senior management roles at CitiPower and Powercor from 2015 to January 2023, including Network Risk and Assurance Manager, where responsibilities included overseeing risk control and governance processes, and Network Safety & Bushfire Mitigation Manager, focusing on risk reduction strategies for network safety and bushfire. Dene was also the Government Programs Manager, managing substantial bushfire reduction initiatives. Prior to CitiPower and Powercor, Dene worked at Beon Energy Solutions as Delivery Manager, overseeing a project portfolio of approximately $30 million, and held multiple roles at CitiPower and Powercor from 1999 to 2010, including Operations & Control Manager and Technical Standards Manager. Dene holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Canterbury, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Deakin University, and a Diploma in Leadership and Management from the Australian Institute of Management.
