Jay Esson has extensive experience in the electrical engineering sector, currently serving as the Head of Substations and Systems Engineering at Essential Energy since April 2019. Prior to this role, Jay worked at TransGrid for over 16 years in various capacities, including Professional Engineer in Main System Planning and Network Planning, where responsibilities involved data extraction, modeling, project documentation, and planning for new generator connections. Jay's career began with a graduate program, progressing through roles that included Operations Support Engineer and Industrial Student/Cadet, contributing to critical projects and studies across New South Wales. Jay holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical from the University of Technology Sydney, completed in 2005.
