David Curry

David Curry has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and IT infrastructure. David is currently serving as the Head of Cyber Security at Essentra since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Identity & Cyber Security Manager at the same company from January 2022 to October 2022. Before joining Essentra, David held positions at Essentra plc starting from October 2014. David served as a Technical Security Manager from December 2018 to January 2022, an Infrastructure & Cloud Solutions Engineer from December 2017 to November 2018, and a Technical Specialist - Platform Services from October 2014 to December 2017. David'searlier work experience includes a role as a Network Engineer (Europe) at Essentra from September 2007 to September 2014, a System Administrator at FILTRONA LIMITED from June 2002 to September 2007, a Systems Support Specialist at PPS from May 2001 to May 2002, and a Support & Development Analyst at Genus Distribution from April 2000 to May 2001.

David Curry obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Information Technology, Business Management & Languages from the University of York, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their A-Levels in Business Studies, Computer Science, and Geography at The King's School in Tynemouth, from 1988 to 1995. In addition to their formal education, David has also obtained several certifications, including Proofpoint Certified Identity Threat Specialist, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, Proofpoint Certified Insider Threat Specialist, Ransomware Attacks: Basics, TTPs, and Countermeasures, Zscaler ZCCA-PA, and AppSpider Enterprise Certified Specialist.
