Jim Barnes is an experienced electrical and technical engineer currently employed at Essity since February 2023. Prior to this role, Jim served as an E&I Supervisor at Cherokee Nitrogen from June 2015 to February 2023, and held positions as an I&E Technician at Ascend Performance Materials and Mississippi Power. At Mississippi Power, Jim started at the Kemper Power facility as a Refinery Tech I/C. Earlier career experiences include working as an I&E Technician at International Paper, where responsibilities included troubleshooting electrical issues and installing conduit, and as an E&I Tech at Saint-Gobain, focusing on PLC programming and calibration. Jim’s foundational experience in maintenance and repair began at Sara Lee Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company, with a strong emphasis on semi-automated equipment and customer service. Jim is a graduate of Russellville High School and attended Shoals Community College.
