Mikaela Börjesson (PhD) is an experienced professional in material development and research, currently serving as a Material Development Manager in the R&D Consumer Tissue division at Essity since January 2020, following a role as Global Product Developer in R&D Personal Care. Prior to this, Mikaela worked as a Project Leader and Postdoctoral Researcher at CEA, focusing on a collaborative research project with institutions in France and Sweden. Additional experience includes consulting for Core Innovation SE on biobased disposable products, conducting postdoctoral research at Chalmers University of Technology, and contributing as a Doctoral Student at Chalmers, with projects oriented towards industry challenges. Mikaela holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry with a focus on (bio)polymers and material chemistry, as well as an MSc and BSc in Chemical Engineering.
