Dean Pullen

Dean Pullen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Dean currently serves as the Head of Technology at esure Group since October 2022. Prior to this, Dean held the position of Head of Software Engineering [Service] at esure Group from January to October 2022. Dean also worked as a Technical Leader at esure from November 2020 to January 2022.

Before joining esure Group, Dean gained significant experience at American Express. Dean served as the Engineering Director - Payment Tokenisation and Safekey from July 2018 to November 2020, responsible for the development and support of Amex's Enterprise Token Vault. Prior to this, they were the Director - Staff Engineer, Enterprise Cloud at American Express from February 2017 to July 2018, overseeing a team involved in supporting and maintaining Amex's internal private Cloud solution.

Dean has also worked at Virgin Holidays as a Technical Lead, contributing to the development of new websites and maintaining existing legacy systems from November 2013 to July 2015. At TUI Travel PLC, they worked as a Senior Java Developer from April 2013 to November 2013. Additionally, Dean was a Development Team Lead at Semantico from September 2011 to March 2013, where they introduced agile development practices and delivered projects for external customers.

Furthermore, Dean held the role of Senior Java Developer at the BBC from December 2009 to September 2011. Prior to this, they served as the Development Manager at MSP Ltd from September 2007 to December 2009, managing a team and overseeing various projects. Dean also gained experience as a Java Developer at Lombard Risk from September 2005 to September 2007, where they developed financial instrument valuation analysis systems. Dean began their career as an R&D Engineer at Tiny Computers from 2001 to 2002.

Throughout their career, Dean has demonstrated expertise in various technologies such as Java, Spring, EJB, Struts, and Tomcat. Dean has also led teams, implemented coding standards, and worked on cloud solutions.

Dean Pullen completed their education from 1997 to 2002, obtaining a Masters MEng degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Sussex.
