James Tobin

James Tobin is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Home Builders. They have more than 20 years of association experience and a diverse housing policy background. Tobin’s NAHB tenure began in 1998 as a Congressional representative for the western United States, and they were promoted to president and CEO in June 2023. Before joining NAHB, they served as a senior legislative assistant to former Representatives Frank Riggs (CA) and Gary Franks (CT). They earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Connecticut and studied at the United States Naval War College from 1996 to 1998 in Strategy & Policy/National Security Decision Making.
