Bert Berge is currently the Head of R&D for Passive Fire Protection and High-Performance Insulation at Etex, a position held since 2019. Prior to this, they served as the Manager of Materials & Technology at Promat Research and Technology Centre from 2015 to 2019, focusing on passive fire protection and insulation. Bert also worked as an R&D Manager for IKO Europe NV from 2005 to 2015, specializing in commercial roofing and liquid waterproofing. They earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from the University of Leuven between 2000 and 2005.
